YARN-Lamp Shade-yarn wrap

Can't figure out where this post got to!

oh well as the story goes . I gave Mom a lamp back in 2004-5-6 whatever from Pier One. Got back and the clerk had inadvertently put the box in the trunk not realizing it had two lamps inside. damn those suckers were heavy. So I hauled out one and returned the other. It had a clever parchment shade. Which turned out to be very fragile after 4 years. Moved here and was vacuuming one day and hit the base and the lamp came tumbling down on ME. yikes again fucking heavy. So now the shade was completely broken. Tried others tried finding a shade to fit. nope. So decided to decorate it with wrapped yarn and jewelry I no longer wear. That took almost a year and it is still a work in progress. But it is in the corner near my dresser and brightens that corner.

What my craft table looks like on a good day

Pin wheel rescue. I use them basically to keep small critters from eating seedlings. Usually fails but hey. I realize they are usually less than a dollar each but if they still work without the "stick" I keep them.

using scraps of yarn as wraps for a lampshade that broke. This was a long process

and as a non sequitur  the progress of air plant and terrariums fern and succulent. :D

July 2017  I used all the jewelry I no longer wear to decorate the wrapped rungs. I may have close up photos. Not sure. Going through pix taken since June and deleting a lot!
